Strongbow’s
100% owned Blue Lake diamond property is located approximately 180 km southwest
of Kugluktuk. The property comprises 35,264 ha of Inuit Owned Lands subject
to the
NTI Agreement, where examination of satellite and topographic data indicates
the apparent confluence of several large-scale (crustal) linear structures,
including the >600km long Beniah-Napaktulik fault zone (BNFZ) that transects
the entire Slave Province. The property hosts a prominent kimberlite indicator
mineral train, within which till samples collected by Strongbow in 2003 returned
hundreds of indicator minerals. The mineral train is well cut off, indicating
that a bedrock source for these minerals is likely located within the property.
Exploration work completed for 2004 includes a detailed helicopter-borne magnetic/electromagnetic
survey covering the head of the Blue Lake indicator mineral train as well as
more detailed sampling (> 200 samples) in an effort to define high quality
drill targets.
