Strongbow’s
100% owned Regan Lake gold property consists of 9,860 ha of Inuit Owned Lands
subject to the
NTI Agreement in the Back River area of the Slave Structural
Province. Past exploration in the area has focused on two occurrences of folded
sulphidic iron formation in the southeastern part of the property where the
last drill program in 1988 produced gold assays of 10.7 g/t Au over 4.38m,
21.3 g/t Au over 2.87m and 27.4 g/t Au over 4.70m. Detailed fixed wing horizontal
magnetometer survey data collected by Strongbow in 2003 indicates the presence
of several additional areas of complexly folded and deformed iron formation
over a 20 km strike length within the property. Significant overburden coverage
may have inhibited identification of potential mineralized zones within these
areas.
Exploration during 2004 included limited field investigations as well as collection
of detailed, 50m line spaced, helicopter-borne electromagnetic/magnetic geophysical
data over the property. Data from these surveys will be used to identify potential
accumulations of sulphide minerals within the iron formation horizons and assist
in targeting further exploration.
